This is a hands-on camp where every athlete has ample opportunity to swim, bike and run as much as they want to.
Each camp is jammed full of individualized instruction on the mechanics of swimming, cycling, and running. Every athlete is videoed in all three disciplines and receives a personalized CD with coaching observations of their SBR technique. We personally spend coaching time with each athlete and fully explore their triathlon enhancers as well as limitations.
Run training will occur either before or directly after cycling. Runs will be self-paced or with a TFT staff member for logistical support. Several run sessions are off-road, including the famed 10 mile Clay Trail in Clermont, as well as at least one session on the track. We will analyze your running form and video you during the track session to provide feedback to improve your biomechanics.
We have two open water swim sessions, one in beautiful crystal clear Wekiwa Springs (Jeff's favorite place on earth to swim) where the water temperature remains a constant 72 degrees year round, a great place to practice wetsuit swims; and the other at the famed Lucky's Lake swim in Orlando where thousands of swimming enthusiasts have swam. Both venues are uniquely different and so incredibly memorable. The remainder of your swims are in a pool where stroke analysis, videography (above and below the water) and individualized coaching will occur.
Each day we will have a fun and energized classroom session directed by an expert in their field, regarding the unique needs of the competitive triathlete. Topics will include Race Nutrition, Strength Training, Bike Position, Training Periodization and Race Taper. Each athlete will be encouraged to share his or her personal training and racing experience.
Daily rides will be 2.5 to 4 hrs with an opportunity to extend as desired. Central Florida is known for its steep but short hills and cyclists from out of state are often surprised by the variety of terrain Central Florida has to offer. We will ride the hills of Ferndale/Lake County as well as Sugarloaf Mountain. Each ride is fully supported with SAG, including mechanical and nutritional support. Each athlete will have their individual ride position reviewed as well as have the opportunity to be professionally bike fitted (for an additional fee).
